When you install a joomla 1.6 templates ,and change it as the default templates,some times it don't shown the templates you just installed,and got "The template for this display is not available" Error.Why you got this error?
After some investigation i found the issue seems to be caused "lower-casing",the template name to generate the folder name. In templateDetails.xml you'll find "<name>TEmplateNAme</name>",After installing the template, the extension and the template_styles tables have the right name: "TEmplateNAme",but the folder name for the template is "templatename" (lower-cased),so you get the "The template for this display is not available" error when I try to browse.

Joomla 1.6 incorporates many new concepts including a new category management. In previous versions, content management is done through the sections and categories. A section may contain several categories, and an article may belong to any category is either one and only.

With Joomla 1.6, there is no longer the concept of division, it has been replaced by the notion of nested categories. Joomla 1.6 incorporates many improvements over version 1.5 that can only rejoice. It's been several years since I worked with version 1.5 and finally I realize that you get used to everything ... Now that Joomla 1.6 is finalized, I can only rejoice in the final version because many convenient features for content management will greatly ease the lives of users of Joomla!
As I write this article, the French language version of the beta was still not integrated. Copies screen thus contain labels in English.
New buttons or Save and New Copy
In Joomla 1.5 we find the Save buttons, Apply and Close to most content.
In version 1.6 there are new functions to create and edit content all placed in the top right of the administration interface.
