Design features (templates) in Joomla! 1.6

All sites developed with Joomla! are the same! Sites may not be designed only if you use Joomla! as a content manager! These two myths about Joomla! we've always heard. But in this blog we will see some features to see that this is not true.
Let's see what brings Joomla! 1.6. If the web sites developed with Joomla! resemble or are very similar is because many are using templates called "pay" for their design. Companies like YOOtheme, Joomlart, JoomlaBamboo, RocketTheme ... have a wide range of templates with a great design. Although these templates can tweak and change the color scheme, the structure is the same. This means that many sites developed with Joomla! are same or very similar.
But with Joomla! You can get any design. That is, any design you can think, can be adapted to Joomla. In addition, a quick and easy (if you do not know how, you can come to one of the courses I teach in Developing Templates for Joomla 1.5 ).
With the new version of CMS, there are some developments which we will summarize here:
Template design features in Joomla! 1.6
    * Check tables of contents without default in the Joomla!: This feature is new, as in version 1.5 was out with tables (although it could solve thanks to the technique of Template Overrides.) Joomla! 1.6 , all output files are written in XHTML 1.0 Strict. HTML 5 is also compatible with Joomla! 1.6.
    * New basic templates: Joomla! 1.6 comes with a new core templates. On the side of the administrator, Bluestork is the default template and a template Hathor is fully accessible to support people with various disabilities. On the side of the site of Joomla! 1.6 is included Atomic and Beez2 (yes, the bees are gone!), In addition to the Milkyway template.
    * Template Styles: Sometimes you may need a slightly different look to a page or group of pages on the site. Previously, this could mean the encoding of a completely different template. Now, with the template styles, you can easily create small variations in template that can be assigned to specific pages on the website.
    * Replacement Template (Template Overrides) vs. Replacement Design (Layout Overrides): In Joomla! 1.5, you can change the appearance of some files, overriding the default one. However, no one could change the output files for only a few pages. With new and improved design, you can alter the appearance of specific menu items, components, modules and categories.
    * Legacy Milkyway: Did you use the core files of Joomla! (Without replacing template) in a Joomla! 1.5 and you have to upgrade to Joomla! 1.6? If so, you can use the legacy layer in the Milkyway template for compatibility, not manipulate its CSS, to match the new output without tables in Joomla! 1.6.
    * Codemirror Editor: We have built an editor for easy editing of HTML and CSS in Joomla! (Which brings out the color coding.)
    * Improved Media Manager: The Flash-based multimedia manager is back! Once again, you can upload multiple images at once from the Administrator.{mosgoogle}
    * SEO features: You can assign Meta-Keywords (meta keyword) and Meta-Description (target for description) to articles, categories and menu items, and you can easily add a site name to the title of the HTML page.
    * Nested categories: With infinite nesting of categories, creating a representation of the site map in Joomla.
    * Updates easily extensions: Keeps Joomla! a day easily, but to keep your extensions in Joomla! 1.5 was a bit more complicated. Now, in Joomla! 1.6 can easily upgrade the extensions within the Administrator, without having to visit the official websites of the developers of the extensions.
With these new features, the power of Joomla! regarding the development of templates is more than demonstrated. The myths that we mentioned at the beginning of the article I think it should stop there, unless, as we have said, the continued use of such templates, or templates. Only your imagination sets the limit on the design of your website.
